Haplogroups are used to determine early human migration patterns
Haplogroups are defined by certain SNP (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) markers in the DNA
The typical Y-chromosome DNA test results give STR (Short Tandom Repeat) markers instead
It is possible to predict the haplogroup based on the STR markers alone
The form below does just such a prediction
If you've had your DNA tested by FamilyTreeDNA, enter your kit and code, then press "Fetch FTDNA Markers"
Otherwise you'll have to fill in your markers manually
The predicted haplogroup based on these STR markers will be shown, along with probabilities
This page will fetch data from FamilyTreeDNA's website.
There is no security leak on their site;
the only way I am able to fetch the data is by using the kit and code number that you have entered.
Any person or website not knowing those values cannot fetch your data from FamilyTreeDNA.
I do not collect and store your kit and code numbers.
Of course I have no way of proving that to you,
so if you do not trust me please do not use this site.
I promise I won't be offended.
